First time back a Brookvale Oval since leaving Dee Why in 1987.

What I remember (in 2024)...

Went alone.

There was a Primus shirt bought.  It was a blue shirt with the print the same as the poster above, with no tour dates.  Shirt was retired at a time I don't even remember.

What I remember

Went with Roberta & Luvvo.  Luvvo was on crutches from a knee reconstruction.  He, like everyone was in the thick of it.  I don't know how he didn't damage his knee again.

I don't remember too much from the show, but I remember having a great night, and was awed by how well Green Day rocked the 7000 people in the Hordern. 

It was also one of the first of many times I'd see The Living End and they were awesome. Perfect opening band.  

T-shirt was well worn before retirement in 2009.

Went with Kern, Luvo & Benno.

Celibate Rifles were unreal, and then Radio Birdman came on an blew them away.  It was such a good show, standing on the floor of the Metro.

David Yow of Jesus Lizard dived into the crowd and crowd surfed all the way to the mixing desk and back.

Went with Michael.  Ran into Reggae & Beck during the day.

Custard starting the day in a venue like half cylindrical aluminium.  Sound was not good.

David Yow of the Jesus Lizard diving into the crowd.

TISM in there red outfits with the huge tube-balloon heads.

Tens of thousands of people bouncing in unison with Rage's Killing In The Name Of.

All the t-shirts were $30, except Rage had their own stand selling theirs for $15.

The Nick Cave / Kylie Minogue Wild Roses duet.

Packing in down the front for Radio Birdman.  (after hearing Rancid's last song). Again that sound in that room was terrible.

Couldn't believe when Radio Birdman announced they were reforming.

Went on my own.

At the time I didn't realize Wayne Kramer was from MC5.

Radio Birdman played like a vibrant new band, out to impress.  Every song better than the last.  Aloha Steve & Danno and New Race back to back was phenomenal.
