Danzig & As I Lay Dying @ The Joint

Danzig Setlist The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas, NV, USA 2004, circle of snakes

What I remember (in 2024)
Went on my own.
Was so excited to see Danzig and they did not disappoint.
After 10 songs, he asks if we mind if he brings a special guest on stage.  And out stomps Doyle!  The crowd goes absolutely apeshit.  Danzig & Doyle on stage together for the first time in 20 years.  When the band breaks out into 20 eyes, The Joint turned into a mass of flailing bodies.  The played another 6  Misfits songs in 15 minutes before Doyle lurched off stage.  No one had time to think about what they just saw, as Danzig played 3 more songs.  The encore consisted of Do You Wear The Mask? and 2 more Misfits "cover".  An absolute highlight of concert going experiences.

The Cramps @ House Of Blues

What I remember (in 2024)
Went on my own.
The Cramps were awesome.
Poison Ivy was as cool personified as Lux Interior was batshit insane.
Lux ended up drinking 2 bottles of wine, straight from the bottle, on stage, breaking the last one only to cut his clothes to ribbons while on stage.

Bateau Bay, NSW

What I remember (in 2024)
On September 15 A & I flew back to Australia for 2 weeks to celebrate Mum's 50th.
She had her Black & White party at The Entrance Surf Club with tonnes of people.  The following day was spent with family at Toowoon Bay Caravan Park.  A great celebration.
A & I had a day out wandering Sydney and then stayed at the Harbour View Hotel in North Sydney.  Great view of Sydney, shittiest beds ever.
There was also a night at Robbie & Linda's for all the Coasties (Kerns, Trevridges, Benno's, Brooke, Darv, K&J, where we got tom meet Tyler for the first (and currently only) time.
Most time was spent with family.

What I remember (in 2024)

My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult played Slip Slidin' (from The Crow soundtrack) the only song of theirs I knew.

Grand Canyon National Park, AZ

What I remember (in 2024)

I flew out to The Grand Canyon with Robbie on Scenic Airlines, as a comp from work.  The small 8 seater plane was bumpy as all hell going both out there and back.  I'm sure I still have fingernails embedded in their seats.  Absolute great day though, as is any day at the Grand Canyon.

What I remember (in 2024)
Went on my own.
The Boston was a small bar, a block away for out apartment.  Not a lot of people at the show, but Local H put on a killer set.
Scott Lucas finished the set by stepping off stage and heading straight to the merch stand.  He sold me the t-shirt.

Tom Jones @ Hollywood Theatre

What I remember (in 2024)
Went with A again.
I had only been 3 months since we'd seen him, but Jones was so good that going back, for A's birthday, no a no brainer.
Bought tickets from the MGM Box Office and because we were flexible with days, we picked tonight and sat at a table in the front row.
Jones, at one point, singing right in front of us, winked at A, definitely making her night.
Another strong performance.

The Vines, Jet & Living End @ The Joint

What I remember (in 2024)
Went with A & Dave.
Thought the running order was the wrong way.  From what I knew, the Living End were the biggest of the 3 bands, but The Vines were the band of the moment.
Living End were terrific.  Jet was better than expected, but the Vines were disappointing.

Tom Jones @ Hollywood Theatre

What I remember (in 2024)
Went with A.
Sex Bomb was a big hit when we lived in England, and A didn't know Tom Jones before that.  I promised her we'd see him if he came to Vegas, so we did.
His voice, energy, band and stage persona was dynamite.
