Sat up high on the side of the stage.

Van Morrison wanted to be anywhere else but here.  He walked on stage, foot tapped a button, that counted down 60 minutes.  He never talked to the audience and finished Gloria right on 60 minutes on the dot, and walked off stage.

Melvins, Big Business, Porn (The Men Of) & Altamont @ Celebrity

What I remember (in 2024)

Went on my own.

Celebrity was a short lived club in downtown Vegas.

Dale Crover played guitar in Altamont & drums in Porn (The Men Of) before regular duties with the Melvins.

Big Business finished their set and stayed on stage and played with Melvins.  Two drummers were amazing.

What I remember (in 2024)

A&I flew to Chicago on November 10 for 3 (free) nights and stayed at the Hyatt downtown.  We went and visited A's step-sister in the suburbs.  I remember walking back to the hotel from the train station with the freezing wind and rain, and wondering how people live here when it really gets cold.

Nikky & Andy came up from Iowa and stayed with us.  We went to the Field Museum, took pictures at the bean, and went on a river/architecture cruise.  Was a great weekend, but bitterly cold.  Good to see Nikky & Andy.  First time since they left Vegas a year ago.

Blue Man Group & Tracey Bonham @ Honda Center, Anaheim, CA

What I remember (in 2024)

I won this in a raffle at SNHCA meeting.  

A & I got free flights, a night's accommodation (I can't remember where we stayed), town car to and from the airport & the show.  When we got to the Honda Center, there were no tickets for us.  after about 45 minutes, the box office gave us 2 tickets about as far away from the stage as possible.  Didn't matter, it was all free.

Devo @ The Joint

What I remember (in 2024)

Went with A, who was not impressed.

I thought it was great.  Another band who I never thought I'd see again (after Livid 97).  Devo are still ahead of their time, when will we catch up.

What I remember (in 2024)

Went with A, & Mike & Ryan from the Hyatt.

They are just not for me.  I should have remembered that from 94 show.  I was bored until the last song, Sabotage.  It was excellent, but could not slavage the rest of the show.  Even A, the Beastie Boys fan, was disappointed.

What I remember (in 2024)

Comp tickets from the Wynn.

New show at the newly opened Wynn Hotel & Casino.  A Cirque-like show based in the water, and seating in the round (so not a bad seat in the whole theater).  Great show.  Great hotel.

San Francisco Giants vs Colorado Rockies @ AT&T Park

What I remember (in 2024)

On August 3, Trish, A & I flew to San Francisco and spent 3 (free) nights at the Hyatt at Union Square (work perks).  We did a trip out to Alcatraz and went to a Giants Game.  The Giants play at AT&T Stadium, right in downtown San Fran, on the bay.  The stadium was built with Barry Bonds in mind.  The left hander, with all his power can hit the ball out of the stadium and into the bay, where people will wait in boats and kayaks to collect the souvenir.  He did it at our game, but it was a foul ball.

Colorado 2 (Matt Halliday, Choo Freeman home runs) defeated San Francisco 1 (Omar Vizguel home run) in 11 innings.

What I remember (in 2024)

Went on my own.

Riverboat Gamblers were great.

Rollins Band original line up.  On stage at 7pm.  Henry told the crowd "I put the pink in punctual!".  They were magnificent.  Played a lot of songs from End Of Silence and Weight.

X didn't do much for me.

Went with A.

Comp ticket through SNHCA.

Absolute snorefest.  I had seen Phantom twice in Sydney, and really enjoyed it.  This was just terrible.  Probably would have walked out had we had the opportunity.  I can't believe it lasted 6 years.

What I remember (in 2024)

Comp ticket through SNHCA.

This was awesome.  Easily the best show I've ever seen, therefore the best Cirque show in Vegas.  How they have interpreted The Beatles music is just beautiful.  I will go on to recommend this show to anyone that will listen for the next 7 years.

Bloc Party & Go Team @ The Joint

What I remember (in 2024)

Went on my own.

Not very well attended.  The Go Team were poppy/dancey, but I really thought they were great.  Not what I'd normally see.  Bloc Party were as great as I thought they'd be.  Silent Alarm was one of my favorite albums at the time (still is) and performed live was just great.

What I remember (in 2024)

Went with A & Dave.

Eagles of Death metal were great.

High expectations for The Strokes, after seeing them on New Years Eve in 2003.  They were having an off night.  Singer was plastered and just awful.
