What I remember (in 2024)...
I went on my own. I drove out from Kensington in the rain. Didn't really know how long it would take so ended up getting there as the gates opened.
Got to the barrier, which was a long way from the stage, and was talking to security, when a teenager next to me threw-up. Security told me to come to the side and they were letting people in this front section. I was one of the first few in and planted myself in front of one of the stages (there were 2 side by side). Never left that section the entire day. I remember hearing L7 and Flaming Lips, but couldn't see the second stage.
Live played in the rain and at the end of their set, their guitarist tried to smash his guitar, but it slipped out of hands and hit the barrier at chest height right next to me.
I was right in front of Maynard for Tool's set - back when he was still at the front of the stage.
Faith No More were great, but Mike Patton kept taunting Trent Reznor.
Nine Inch Nails were a great headliner, and the band smashed everything at the end of their set.
