TISM, Trout Fishing In Quebec & Daisygrinders @ The Metro

I probably bought this at this gig. One of the 4 times I saw this great Australian band. Besides the fact that I bought a shirt and just about every concert I went to in the 90's the other reasons for this particular one is 1) it's done in the style of a football jersey, the This Is Serious Mom t-shirt has the lyrics of All Homeboys Are Dickheads and 2) it had the number 5 on the back - my number back in the Killarney Vale soccer days.

While the yellow lyrics on a white shirt are hard to read (which may have been a good thing) they are as follows:
I know his dad's abusive
And his mum prefers the daughter
I know he's got an attention
Deficiency disorder
He is culturally excluded
And genetically inbred
But the reason he's a homeboy
Is because he's a dickhead
We all support empowerment
And positive discrimination
When your class, your race, your age, your face
Determine your social station
A baseball cap and a love of rap
Might need sympathy - yet, still
Possibly a homeboy could be

A dickhead pure and simple

This long sleeve shirt got too small and in 2010 it was sadly retired.

What I remember (in 2024)...
These tickets belonged to friends of Robbie's parents, who couldn't use them.  Robbie was already going, so we went along and sat separately with Kern.
As the score suggests, the game was a bit of a defensive slugfest, with 1 goal the difference.

Queensland 2 (Wayne Bartrim goal) defeated NSW 0

Primus Setlist Alternative Nation Sydney 1995, Tales From The Punchbowl

Faith No More Setlist Alternative Nation Sydney 1995, King For a Day

Nine Inch Nails Setlist Alternative Nation Sydney 1995, 1995 Australian Tour

What I remember (in 2024)...
I went on my own.  I drove out from Kensington in the rain.  Didn't really know how long it would take so ended up getting there as the gates opened.
Got to the barrier, which was a long way from the stage, and was talking to security, when a teenager next to me threw-up.  Security told me to come to the side and they were letting people in this front section.  I was one of the first few in and planted myself in front of one of the stages (there were 2 side by side).  Never left that section the entire day.  I remember hearing L7 and Flaming Lips, but couldn't see the second stage.
Live played in the rain and at the end of their set, their guitarist tried to smash his guitar, but it slipped out of hands and hit the barrier at chest height right next to me.
I was right in front of Maynard for Tool's set - back when he was still at the front of the stage.
Faith No More were great, but Mike Patton kept taunting Trent Reznor.
Nine Inch Nails were a great headliner, and the band smashed everything at the end of their set.
